I hate Deviantart, but I'm still on it. On that website, popularity validates one's quality of work. I'm not one of those people who uploads a piece of work that gets over 1000 faves and comments within one hour. There are people who can whip out a sketch, and it gets devoured immediately. As for me, I just do my best to churn out something personal, and if I'm lucky, I get fifty faves and twenty comments within a month. I don't understand why some people can just get so much attention on there. I'm completely baffled, and I keep on trying to tell myself it's not a big deal, that popularity doesn't mean good work, but it doesn't work.
I get so frustrated when I draw. I sometimes feel like there's no point in drawing, but I keep on going anyway, because I feel like all the energy I've put into drawing and art for the past five years of my life would just go to waste. But why should I keep on drawing if all I get are just blank looks, and people who say nothing and walk away?
These are only a few pages from my new sketchbook. These pages stood out to me among the rest of the trash. T_T
