Published in Giuseppina Magazine

This is my second publication as a model! I'm in Giuseppina Magazine, issue #11. The photographer is BeeMarie Photography, and the makeup artist and wardrobe stylist is Roezi Rebel. I just got my tearsheet from Giuseppina Magazine yesterday, and I am so proud to be in the magazine! It is a 200-page magazine, and can be bought by clicking on this link.

Modeling Digression: Carousel Shoot with Emily Nguyen

You may or may not remember the preview post I wrote of the carousel shoot I did with photographer Emily Nguyen and makeup artist Terry Alabata back in January.

I got the photos a couple of weeks ago (Emily is such a busy-bee! In addition to being a college student, she's also a professional photographer who is commissioned a LOT for weddings and portraits, so kudos to her for working so hard!), and I'm so happy with them! Aren't they gorgeous? They go well with my blog background (for those you who have followed me way back when I was in high school, it was my AP Concentration #10), so I just had to revamp my blog design. It used to be predominantly black and red, but now it's all very feminine and dream-like, with lots of lavenders and pinks. I figured if I wanted to be more kid-friendly, especially since I'm in the process of editing my middle-grade novel, I might as well have my blog look more kid-friendly. That wasn't my original intentions with the photos, but they just turned out that way, hehe! And I'm so happy with the photos! I can't get over how talented of a photographer and retoucher Emily is!

The location is Zeum Carousel by the Yerba Buena Gardens in San Francisco. I just LOVE carousels for their symbolism of childhood and dreams and magic. The operator who was in charge of the carousel while we were there was so nice to let us just go around and shoot on the carousel. Also, it was a weekday, so people were off at work, kids were at school, so it was a nice time to have a shoot at the carousel!

Modeling Digression: Laquel Wright Photography

A few weeks ago, I had an alternative boudoir session with Laquel Wright Photography. Laquel is a wonderful photographer who specializes with boudoir and portraits, and she was really open to experimenting with an different boudoir look, since women typically wear lacy pastels and in an intimate environment. But me? I decided to bust out one of my favorite scarves, stockings, and 5-inch stilettos!

Modeling Digression: Preview of Today's Carousel Shoot

In the long months that I have been absent from Blogthings, not only have a revived my novel-writing goals and become a college freshman, I now model part-time for fun.

Today, I had the honor of doing my second collaboration with photographer Emily Nguyen (website here) and my third collaboration with makeup artist Terry Alabata (website here). We had a carousel-themed shoot at Zeum Carousel in San Francisco, by the Creativity Children Museum and Yerba Buena Garden. It was ecstatic to be part of it, and riding the carousel costs $3.00 for two rides. Definitely made the kid in me very giddy. Terry is a makeup genius, as well as a super-friendly and bubbly woman! Emily is such a talented photographer, (go check out her website and portfolio, and you'll see what I mean!) and super-creative with wardrobe (see the skirt I'm wearing? She created it in about ten minutes, and put it on me with staples. But it looks so pro, doesn't it?).
